Hessle is a, popular, picturesque town, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, five miles (8 km) west of Kingston upon Hull city centre. It is on the north bank of the Humber Estuary where the Humber Bridge crosses.

Hessle Town Hall was built in 1897 and is situated at the top of South Lane. Hessle Police Station is next door to the town hall at the top of South Lane and the corner of Ferriby Road.
There are many amenities in Hessle including supermarkets, chemists, hairdressers, beauticians, cafes, bars, restaurants and individual retail outlets such as Mimis ( a lady"s fashion boutique).
